Foggy Bottom Classic Jazz Band – Nostalgia

Foggy Bottom Classic JB came to be in 2003.

Here is the original group with Anders Linde & Thomas Wallin (co), Johnny Korner (cl), Peter Trägårdh (tb), Hans Brodén (p), Bertil Olofsson (bj), Peter Svedholm (bb) and Lars-Gunnar Röök (dr).

Duties at work soon called for Bertil so he had to put away the banjo for a few years.

Instead, Janet Grootoonk became Foggy's singing banjo lady for some years. Pictured here with Thomas Wallin in the background.

Behind Janet is our guest star for the evening, the singing naval pilot Peter Browall.

After a couple of years Lars-Gunnar was succeeded on drums by Ralf Elgqvist, and in 2006 Janet returned to her native Holland to be replaced on banjo by Olle Wassén.

Below is the Orchestra at different gigs:  at the Nefertiti Jazz Club in Göteborg, at a garden concert at Mölndal City Museum and in the Särö Church.

In 2014 Thomas Wallin left the orchestra, and Klas Nilsson came in as our regular second cornetist.

Ralf Elgqvist left the orchestra in 2014 to resuscitate his own hibernating band, but it took a year before Foggy got hold of Tomas Håård, Stenungsund's answer to Cie Frazier.

Left, before a gig at Redbergskyrkan in 2016.

In 2016, finally, one of the 'founding fathers' of Foggy Bottom CJB, Peter Svedholm, stepped down and was replaced on sousaphone by Per Sörner.

Foggy Bottom CJB has been fortunate to appear several times with the vocalist Anna-My Ekström Zetterberg - as in this photo from the Göteborg Classic Jazz Festival in 2015.
